The trip was planned by the Madhu, his long wish to visit the places started from Thanjavur.

We started to Thanjavur by the train Uzhavan Express(Train No - 16183, Time : 11:30 PM from Chennai). It was little tragedy in reaching station. We got the bus from Thoraipakkam to Broadway. It was the wrong decision, we need to reach Egmore station from there, the bus conductor guided the bus which doesn't reach Egmore. We took an auto and realized how just 2 min before. Luckily the train didn't start on time.

How to Reach: Walkable from Railway Station and Old bus stand.
Best time to Visit: Any time.
Duration: 3-4 hours

I already visited the place before, but this time I found the new things. We reached to the temple by walk directly from the station. While we are searching for the Lodge, luckily we found the Sulabh complex. Initially I refrain to go there, but it was very clean. Hope people are not using much. We got ready by 8 AM and started to visit it the giant temple.

The information Centre at the temple clearly explained about the temple architecture and helps to understand about the uncompleted 108 natya rupas, the fresco art and the temple architecture.

Then we started to Maratha Palace. It is 1.5 km walk from Temple.

Ticket Fare : 50 (Entry Fee) + 50 (Camera)
How to Reach: By walk from station and old bus stand.
Best time to Visit:  Any time
Duration: 3- 4 hours
Highlights: Audio Visual tour about Thanjavur, Art Gallery, Bell Tower, Handicrafts shop, Sangeetha palace, library. All these places are available at one place.
Nearby Places : Sharja Maadi.

There is lunch hour break from 1 to 2 PM.

Then we started to the Kumbakonam to reach Gangaikonda Cholapuram temple. It is 50 km drive.

How to Reach: One reach to temple by taking Jayakondan bus from Kumbakonam to step down near to temple.
Best time to Visit: Anytime

Highlights: Exact replica of Thanjavur, BRIHADEESWARA temple.
Nearby Places : Raja Raja Chola Museum.

Kolleru bird Sanctuary

The day before Rajesh called and instructed make a time for tomorrow. We need to go bird sanctuary near to your home. I planned myself and prepared for the next day. He called in the next morning when he about to cross my home. But I am not yet ready. I called him to come to my house. After 10 minutes, we started for drive on 2 bikes. It is a 30 km far from my house. Even though, it is near to my native, I never went there. We have enquired on the way to get the route to sanctuary. There are no proper instructions and sign boards. Thanjavur - Madurai(Day -1)

I t has been so long to kick of my journey. I took a long break to start with a new place. But this time came with a planned map. But bare me till the end of my journey. Date : Oct 1st, 2014 Just now started in the train. The train gave a jerk to start off my journey. Got a Side Lower seat at berth 15 in the Uzhavan Express. And the clock ticks on 11:33 pm at Chennai Egmore station. And my eyes falling asleep until 351 km. Kaalai Vanakkam(Good Morning) Somebody flashed on my mobile and wake me up. When I open my eyes, I reached Kumbakonam. The shiny rays falling on earth opens my hair to stood up. I am almost about to reach my destiny. I reached Thanjavur station at around 7 in the morning. Its a new place and new air, but i need to search newly for a good lodge.
