Day 2 # Nava Nandhi's

Dated : 19th April, 2019
Crew : Madhu and Myself

In the early morning, we packed the bags and started the Nava Nandhi's trip. We enquired the auto walas, and they are charging 1000 rupees for the nava nandhi's. We denied and started on our way.

For Nava nandhi's, first we need to visit the Uma Maheswar temple near Srinvas Center and there is an order to visit the Nava Nandhi's. The First 3 Nandhi's (Pradhama Nanadhi, Naga Nanadhi, Soma Nandhi) are in Nandyal only. We completed the 3 Nandhi's by the Share Auto's only. The next 2 nandhi's are on the way to Maha Nandhi. There are no direct auto's to the 4th and 5th Nandhi's. Few people suggested, first go to Omkar and there are few auto's available to the 4th and 5th Nandhi. But we get down in the Kothapalli, and then started walking towards the kadamala kaalva which is 8 km from Kothapalli. With the villager's help, I reached first upto Kadamala Kaavala on bike. He gave lift for only 1 person. I am waiting at the village entrance. I forgot that he didn't have mobile and my mobile was also on the airplane mode. It has been 2 hours waiting for him. I have been chit chatting with the local people, he inquired about me and also said, why you left him. I don't have an answer. Sometimes, I don.t think in long run. Then I thought, when you are coming for a trip, never leave another person. Luckily he got my number and called my watch(phone), which I kept for safe side. By the time he called, he reached 5th Nandhi. He inquired about me at the 4th Nandhi Temple, but nobody had said that no one has visited. Then he started to the 5th Nandhi. I walked for 3 km in the sun and finally reached. I was fully exhausted after reaching 5th Nandhi. From there, one of the devotee helped to drop us at Thimmavaram and then we took auto to Bukkapuram. From there we took another auto to Maha nandhi. There are 3 nandhi's within maha nandhi itself. We completed our dinner and made darshanam too. Actually we missed the order, first we visited Maha Nanadhi, where we should visit Garuda Nandhi. After visiting Maha Nandi, I took a snap for sometime in the temple premises and started to the Garuda Nandi. The another temple is there within the Maha Nandhi temple. Again we went to Mahanandhi and visited the 8th Nandi. We waited for around 2 hours for the bus. Auto's are not coming for share for 2 people. Finally, one auto dropped us at the 9th Nandi. we walked on the paddy fields to reach last nandi(Surya Nandi). There we came to know that the Nava Nandi's should be completed between the sun rise and sun set. We started to the Nandyal to visit the final destination Uma Maheswar temple, where we started first before nava nandi's. The thing we have completed all this within the sun set. And planning for the next destination.

We thought that, we will start to Srisailam at late hours without taking the room and planned to go for a movie in the mean time. First we will inquire in the bus stand for the last bus and then plan accordingly. But when we enquired, the last bus to Srisailam is 3.30 PM. Late nights, no bus will be allowed on the Ghat roads as it will cause disturbance to the wild animals of Nalamalla forest. Instead of waiting in Nandyal, we started to Dornal via Athamakuru, where the buses will stop at nights(entrance of Nalamalla Forest) and start early in the morning to Srisailam. At round, 12'o clock, we knocked the door for the Srisailam Cottage present in Dornal, luckily we handed the key and asked us to stay. He enquired on the where abouts and kept my ID card. By God's grace, we stayed in the Dornal for the night.
